Cardio is not jumping out of an airplane.
Cardio is not lifting weights faster.
Cardio is not tensing your muscles.
Cardio Is Running.
Cardio Is Rowing.
Cardio Is Cycling.
Legs moving, lungs expanding.
Just because your heart rate is up doesn’t mean it’s cardio.
I use the example of jumping out of an airplane. Sure your heart rate goes up. Probably much higher than in the fat burning “zone”. But that doesn’t make it cardio.
If someone scares you, your heart rate will red line for a few seconds or minutes. Boo!
But, that’s not cardio.
Real cardio is legs moving rapidly and your lungs expanding and contracting rapidly
Running, rowing and cycling are the top three.
Don’t believe the infomercials or the latest headlines about raising your heart rate by contracting your muscles or by lifting weights faster.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
